Felix Droese was born in 1950 in Singen/Hohentwiel, Germany.  From 1970 to 1976 he studied at the Academy of Arts in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Felix Droese belonged to Joseph Beuys’ inner circle. Droese is especially known for his monumental paper works, as well as for his installations and wood cuts.  His work is often socio-politically critical.

He participated in the documenta in 1982, in the 5th Biennale of Sydney in 1984, and in the Venice Biennial in 1988.
